Our dear Bangwe, an orphaned warthog, has developed a great friendship with two of our Baboon orphans, Umfazi and Holly.
They can often be found sitting on his back while he takes a stroll round the sanctuary checking in on the other fury residents. Bangwe loves his friends company, especially when they are tickling his tummy while giving him a good old Baboon groom.
Bangwe came to Free to be Wild when he was only a few days old. He and his sister had washed down the Bangwe river and were in a very poorly way on arrival. We sadly lost his sister but happily and proudly raised him into one of the fattest piggys we have ever seen! He was also happily released back into the wild where he rightfully belongs.
