Our home is at risk.

To protect the 89 animals currently in our care and ensure our doors stay open, we must raise $225,000 by December, 2026 to begin the purchase of our sanctuary land.

More Than a Primate Sanctuary

What started with one baby baboon 12 years ago has grown into a national emergency response for all wildlife. From the critically endangered Pangolin to the world’s first zebra with a prosthetic limb, we provide the expert veterinary care and long-term stability every species deserves.

Become a Wildlife Guardian

Your Journey. Their Second Chance.

For 12 years, the heartbeat of Free to be Wild has been our global community of volunteers. This is your invitation to step behind the scenes of Zimbabwe’s leading multi-species sanctuary and turn your passion for wildlife into tangible action.

Whether you are assisting our Head Wildlife Handler, Trust, with daily primate rehabilitation or supporting the intensive care of our latest rescues, your presence on the ground provides the critical labor and funding needed to keep our sanctuary operational. Join us in Bulawayo to gain world-class conservation experience, live among the species you are helping to save, and become a lifelong guardian of the wild.

Educational Tours

Protecting the Future, Not Just the Present.

At Free to be Wild, we believe that conservation only truly succeeds when the next generation leads it. Our mission extends far beyond the sanctuary fences; we are building a culture of stewardship across Zimbabwe to ensure that humans and wildlife can thrive together.

A National Impact Our dedicated Education Center is a hub of discovery, welcoming over 14,000 students and 192 schools annually. By providing a safe, immersive environment, we turn fear into fascination and conflict into coexistence.

Every life. Every Species. Counts.
